Leyla Alegria
Professor Alegria is an Assistant Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile
She completed nursing school at the same University and a Master´s Degree in Epidemiology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile
Her research program focuses on the long-term effects of critical illness on neurocognition and psychological impairment, in critical patients and relatives
Currently, Professor Alegria is conducting a study that evaluate the impact of an environmental intervention in the ICU on sleep and long-term cognitive impairment in critical patients
Also she is studying the effects of spiritual care in long-term psychological morbidity in critical patients and relatives
